A Message From the Owner - Tom Davis
Here at Silver Lining Stables we continue a tradition of excellence established many years
ago by my family the Davis’ of Horseplay Farm –Paris Kentucky. My father (E.R. Davis a.k.a.
- Bud) and mother (Aleitha) were responsible for many of the Foundation Stock of the Rocky Mountain, Kentucky Mountain and
Mountain Pleasure Horse Associations. They produced or owned horses such as CHOCO DOCK, MAPLES SQUIRREL,
YANKEE RAGTIME, ZSA ZSA, KENTUCKY CHIEF, ARTHURS TRAVELER, PENCE’S BLUE BOY, C.R.’S TOP GUN, CLASSIC SQUIRREL,
RED RED WINE, SNOW ON THE MOUNTAIN only to name a few. At one time Horseplay Farm had as many as 240 registered
Rocky Mountain Horses.

Lining Stables offers a complete horse operation with boarding, an indoor riding facility, specializing in starting young
horses under saddle, training, breeding and sales of some of the best old line Mountain Horses in the business. Our stock is either by or directly
descended from sons of Tobe (i.e. Maple’s Squirrel, Yankee, Kilbourne’s Chocolate Sundown) or is by other top
stallions (i.e., Choco Dock, Three Son’s Savior, etc.)
Over the years I had
the good fortune to have started and trained well over 300 horses. I believe in using a lot of ground and
round pen work along with some of my Grandfathers techniques of ground driving young horses. It is my philosophy
to take time and do it right with out scaring or hurting the horse, each horse is different, but by using some basic tried
and true methods you can get any horse to come around.
Silver Lining Stables is aptly named as I have learned through all of my many mistakes in life that the Lord has truly blessed
and given me a gift with horses.
